Worksheet2 Agreeing the rules
Agreeing the rules | 2.4
Successful clustering requires that each organisation makes a commitment both to the process and to its fellow cluster members. The Core Group therefore needs to agree a set of ground rules that everyone sticks to.
The Collaborate Ground Rules
- Don’t waste each others’ time by not turning up (this is essential — unless you have a core of people working as a team and developing momentum, you will get nowhere);
- Be prepared to share information, knowledge & contacts with each other;
- Be prepared to suspend competitive behaviour in the areas the cluster has chosen to work in;
- Contribute the resources of your organisation, and take a fair share in ensuring that the work of the cluster gets carried forward in between meetings;
- Be prepared to compromise over priorities;
- Be prepared, if the initiative is successful, to look at ways in which its benefits can be spread to other voluntary organisations working in the area.
